Bam Bam Bam

So, it’s a new day and a new month. And yet there are things in life that remain the same. I’m currently in a different city and yet this NameCheap problem keeps following me. I guess it really cannot be away from me way too far. But why is it the one that sticks with me is a problem? Why not…… uh… well.. must I say it?

Anyway… NameCheap! NameCheap, oh Namecheap. Don’t you think you have given me enough headaches this year? It’s not even mid-year yet, and the amount of time and effort I have to put on you… Oh, I should have put it on someone else.

Eh.. something else, I mean. Well.. someone, something, someday, maybe… Errr… what am I talking about here? Let’s go back to focus on NameCheap!

Wait, should we really go back to talk about NameCheap? But that’s not what I want to talk about right now. Not now. Not tomorrow. Not any other time. I want to talk about something else. Something that makes my heart flutter. Something that makes me fly without wings. And yet sometimes, fell hard on the ground. But isn’t that just a part of life?

Yeah, I know, I know. Don’t fly too high, or your wings will melt in the sun. But didn’t Daedalus also say it… don’t fly too low, or your wings will clog with water. Well… it’s surely not easy to keep the balance. I don’t even know what this is. Am I really flying, or this is just another daydreaming?

Maybe later when I wake up, it will just be another day. Another day to live with its various dynamics. As good as it should be and as bad as what should never be. And yet every moment plays its own part in creating the life the way we live it.

And yet, NameCheap managed to find a way to sneak into my life every now and then. Ahhh…. really… It’s not supposed to be you who got my focus! Seriously..!!

It’s a Good Day!

Ah, yeah, I know. Something else is supposed to be in this post. The sequel to the previous post. And I already made a bit of the draft. But can something else take place before that one? Because this is something I feel good about, and I don’t want to delay writing it.

So, about that member that I felt bad about. I already let go of the thought of apologizing because I hardly caught them in the circle. Also, it’s already more than a couple of days, and I thought no one even remembered what happened that time or that it would matter if I made an apology.

But when I was in the circle this afternoon, I saw that member said something. So I seized the moment. When it was about my turn, I checked the participant list and saw them there. But when I was about to share, they were gone. Since it was my turn, I did the sharing anyway.

As usual, I prefer to share in silence. Once I finished, other members said some warm and uplifting words. Suddenly, I saw that member made a comment too. And when I read that, I felt so good. I didn’t notice it at first. I was just happy to see them there and commenting.

But when I reread the comment again, I realized that it most likely referred to my share. And it felt good. It felt so good. Do you know what they say? They say, “I just woke up from a daydream. I wish it would never end. I wish I could stay in that daydream 24/7”.

And it was the first time I saw them not looking dejected and expressing self-pity. And for me, that was heartwarming. Also, what I feel about that moment gives me more clarity about something. I haven’t felt that way for a long time.

Feeling happy when seeing someone feeling good and thinking I might have played a role in how they feel. It makes me feel so appreciated. And it feels so good. Especially when I least expected it. And it’s not just that. It’s the way they express it. The changes in their behaviors. And how it might have happened because of me.

I didn’t know it would mean that much. Or it could have that impact. I like it when I see myself through someone’s eye, and it makes me feel like I’m a better person than I’ve ever thought. Because of how they’re behaving when I do even the simplest thing. And I don’t even know how did that happen. But I feel so good about it. And it’s very rare for me to experience this kind of feeling.

Well, it’s not exactly what I feel about that member today. But it evokes the feeling someone once made me feel. And I feel so grateful for it all.

Hey, It’s Fasting Month!!

Errr… Yeah, it actually already started more than ten days ago. Right now, it’s two months after love day. Uuhh… yeah, maybe it’s not something to celebrate either. Oh, come on, I need something good. Something worth celebrating. Something to lift my spirit up.

These three days I’ve been feeling so tired. Not just low in spirit but also low in energy. I spend too much time resting during day time. Maybe it’s a combination between lack of sleep, minimum exposure to sunlight, no exercise, and, uh… something else, I guess.

I’ve been so sleep-deprived. Somehow I just couldn’t sleep before midnight. So now I have less than 4 hours of sleep daily. Of course, I tried to get some sleep in the morning too. But my sleep during the daytime could never reach deep sleep. Looking at the monitoring report, the overall quality of my sleep has been improving over the past couple of days. At least the deep sleep percentage is still acceptable. Before that, it wasn’t even anything close to ten percent.

About sunlight exposure… Well… it’s been pretty much low since the pandemic, actually. I supposed it got worsened due to no exercise. Before the fasting month, even when I didn’t do 30 minutes of running, I would still do at least 60 push up along with some squats. Uh well… it’s inclined push-ups.

My body hasn’t been back to its heyday to do the normal push-up. But every step is progress, isn’t it? And it’s usually pretty helpful to maintain my fitness level from aggravating. So, better that than nothing. So when that too is eliminated, oh, I’m in trouble. Gotta find my way back there. And hopefully can progress from there as well.

And, the last issue is, ta-da… **drum roll**. It is…. something else. Eh… it’s so vague, isn’t it? We got to elaborate this one. But how? Oh, don’t worry, my friend, it’s not that hard. After all, many things that are perceived as hardship is only our mind doing the trick on us. Aigo… how dare it, yeah?

Talking about the tricky mind. So, I got a message about someone who shared his experience while spending around a month in the Shaolin temple in his attempt to find God. He’s not Buddhist. But he believes that getting a better understanding of Buddhism philosophy is a great way to get a better perspective of God since the teaching is based on divine power and love.

I don’t know how much of his writing is true, but I find it very interesting. Especially the part where he said he was being motivated while feeling at his weakest. That life is just an illusion. Hunger, pain, anger, disappointment, and other negative mental state are just illusions. That it’s just our mind playing tricks on us. And to be free from that illusion, we must not let our soul become the slave of our body.

Well.. maybe it wasn’t verbalized perfectly. But I found other references related to body and soul in Buddhism teachings. There are two quotes that I really like.

pain is inevitable, suffering is optional

“Judge nothing, you will be happy. Forgive everything, you will be happier. Love everything, you will be happiest.”

So after that, I did a little search about monk’s life. Well.. what else can I do? Curiosity is my middle name. Though it’s usually invisible and unspoken. Lol. Anyway, I watched a video. There’s a part that caught my attention. About the four noble truths. It pretty much sounds like this.

  1. Life involves suffering
  2. Suffering is caused by our craving or desires ( in other Buddhist text, the causes of suffering is said to stem from negative actions -e.g. killing, stealing, lying- and negative mental states -e.g. desire, hatred, ignorance- that motivate the actions)
  3. Suffering stops when we stop desiring things
  4. (This talk about the way to stop desiring things)

We’re not gonna get into detail on the fourth point. Otherwise, this post will turn into completely another topic. Though I do want to provide the information as thoroughly as possible. Ah, is this impulse to write in detail a form of desire to?

Well… Talking about desire can get us into that something else. So, you do remember that I was stuck, don’t you? That I was in the process of writing but found it hard to move forward. I used to come here to… well… motivate myself, I guess. Trying to get myself feeling more relaxed too. And at some point, maybe just deflecting and distracting myself. Pouring some of my worries too. And uh… Doing the NameCheap frustrating issue handling report.

Wow… I surely did a lot! That, uh… didn’t seem to work on keeping me going. So yeah, I’m still stuck. Not entirely unable to move. Maybe more like crawling? And also straying. I guess I just want to keep moving, but something still blocks my way.

I also did something else that wasn’t documented online. Now, my phone storage is almost full, and I have three magic cubes that I can solve within 2 minutes each. Hey, it’s good news, isn’t it? At least I’m developing a new skill. Lol.

Anyway, when none of them seemed to work, I realized I needed to do something else. Something that I always prefer not to do. But I got to drop the baggage. Otherwise, it’d be like a ticking bomb that could explode anytime during my time of writing. And its way of exploding is very problematic. Since it would manifest in some inflamed way and cause the story to go off track.

So, I revisited the support group I had joined years ago but barely had activity on. And a community that I have also known since years ago, but I almost never took any action upon. Trying to find someone to talk to. Someone willing to listen and able to understand all the things that have been bothering me.

Oh yeah, of course! I do have more than a few good friends. Some really, really good friends whom I believe are willing to be there for me should I ever ask them. But I’ve never done such a thing in my life. And I guess… I don’t know, maybe I feel nervous about it. And also, maybe I’m just not ready to give them reasons to see me differently. And, maybe I still find it hard to trust them not to make things even harder for me. And if things go wrong, I currently may not have the energy to deal with it properly.

After all, what I really need is to feel understood, and I just want to focus on where can I get that. I just currently don’t have the energy to handle more feelings of being misunderstood. Oh yeah, please don’t laugh. I also never thought there’d be a day when I’m talking this way. But I guess no one can be strong all the time.

So, let’s talk about my journey in finding someone to talk to. Long story short, I found someone to talk to. He’s fun and affable. He also had a good sense of humor which created a relaxed atmosphere. He’s sensible and emotional and could quickly get in tune with our emotions.

Consciousness is his favorite topic for discussion, and he has an unpopular opinion about people and society, which makes him a great person to discuss things. There was only one thing, he’s so quick to judge. Which made the overall conversation felt different for me.

I didn’t say anything about it. I just tried to keep the conversation going and hoped we could get back on track. But as our conversation progressed, I felt like he became more and more judgmental. At first, I thought he probably going through something too and needed some time away for himself. But when our conversation continued, the same thing happened again. And it made me find it harder to open up.

Every time our conversation ended, I felt dissatisfied because of what happened during the conversation. At the end of the first day of our conversation, I even felt anxious that I got to find another listener before I went to bed despite initially intending to talk to only one person.

After our last conversation, I felt much more misunderstood than before I began using the platform. I felt so upset that I was thinking about sending him messages to tell him things I came to the platform to tell and how I felt about our earlier conversation. But when I thought about it, I also realized that some of my words could come off quite harsh.

He’s seemed strong but also soft at heart. I’m not sure he can handle all I got to say that well. Maybe he can handle it well. I just don’t want to be the person who causes discomfort to others for no good reason. Perhaps the reason is there. But is it necessary to do?

Yes, I feel upset. I had expectations when I used the platform. I connected to someone who appeared to be a nice person. Who seemed to have a high moral standard. Someone who was outspoken and didn’t hold back his opinion about things. Criticizing those who are not up to standard with a premise that seemed to make sense. But turned out didn’t even live up to his own words.

He was hinting that vulnerability and gentleness were underappreciated but made people feel uncomfortable opening up. Talking about deepness and his firm belief in love while posing as someone who’s there to listen and understand others but being judgmental. Love doesn’t judge. Love understands.

Well… I could come off strongly in stating my view when I feel mistreated. And I’m not sure behaving that way is what I need to restore a good state of mind and mood. So, I put it on hold. I’ve been pondering about it. And I think I most likely wouldn’t do that.

Had I done it, under the disappointment of feeling misunderstood, even though not entirely, some of my intentions might be to make him feel regret over the way he treated me. That’s why my words could sound pretty harsh. And it may not be wrong, but that’s not a good reason to do something.

I kinda wonder if it’s partly my fault. Maybe I shouldn’t have told him that I wish to talk more like friends. I did ask for it. But I thought I could get my kind of friend. I was hoping to talk to someone who could treat me the way I treat my friends.

Someone who can give me the comfort and freedom to tell my story freely. Someone who’s being attentive, willing to listen to everything I have to say, willing to dig deeper into the issue, and not just quickly jump to conclusions. Someone who’s not afraid to state their opinion but able to be respectful when I make different decisions. Someone who’s willing to be understanding even if they have different views, stances, or ways of dealing with things. Someone I can trust with my emotion and my story. Someone who can make opening up doesn’t seem daunting. I guess we can’t always get what we give.

Anyway, I tried to limit my exposure to the platform. I kinda felt uncomfortable coming there after that. That discomfort followed me even outside the platform. I even turn my phone off most of the days to shake the feeling and focus on what makes me feel good.

However, it triggered the feeling of being isolated, which put me in even greater distress. So I came to the circle again. Just listen to others and give understanding and support. But a couple of days ago, something happened that made me feel dissatisfied with myself.

There was a member who usually came to the circle and said something over and over again, even when it was not their turn to share. At first, I was being open and supportive. Encouraged them to share if they wanted to. But then a couple of members were stating their opinion, which was blunt and came off quite strongly. It happened during a session hosted by one of my favorite hosts.

Usually, the atmosphere during their session was bright and uplifting. But somehow, it didn’t feel like that yesterday. The host seemed… distracted. They failed to maintain the queue a few times and didn’t seem full of spirit as usual. And someone reported them, which I supposed made them feel even more troubled.

While the member kept talking, the host suddenly said they would leave if that member did the sharing. I saw that member weeks ago with the same behavior and saying almost the exact words, which could sometimes be disturbing. Because it was an expression of self-pity.

The people coming there might not be in the best state of emotion. So they might absorb the atmosphere of the environment easily, even when they don’t want to. When someone seemed distressed, they could get very concerned about it too. Other than that, I also saw people in the room, including the host, tended not to take that member seriously. But when the host said that, I began to think if there was a more concerning issue than what I knew.

Then the member started talking about them not getting much compassion heart and wanting to get specific amounts to get badges. Saying they wanted their profile to look nice. It made me wonder if all they said was sincere or just a way to get more badges.

So when those two members stated their opinion bluntly, I was kind of expressing that I agreed with their thought. I didn’t mean anything bad. But it’s kinda frustrating for me to see someone with a self-destructive mindset like that. And whatever people said didn’t seem to have any impact on them. It’s frustrating to see someone behaving like what we do for them is never enough.

I wasn’t being harsh. I merely said that if they wanted to feel better, they needed to work on themselves too. The circle could only do so much. People could come there to be listened to and get the emotional support they need. Beyond that, it’s the member who needs to do something about it.

The other two members were quite harsh in stating their opinion. And at a later time, I felt bad about taking the same stance as them and expressed my opinion. It was when another member joined the room and said it could be hard to break the cycle I realized that I was being unsupportive.

Because when I read that and thought about it, I realized that I pretty much exhibit similar behavior. I, too, have a cycle that is hard to break. My writings… the videos… Even my sharing in the circle or 1-on-1. That was when I realized that the problem of that member with the seemingly unhealthy behavior was real. Maybe their burden felt too heavy, and they didn’t even know where to start if they were going to talk about it.

They’ve been pretty much silent ever since that occurrence. I don’t know if it was because of me, the other two members, or some other factors. The thing is, I’ve been nothing but supportive to every other member. So, my unsupportive behavior is bothersome for me.

I’ve been thinking about apologizing. But I cannot contact them personally. So the only option to do that is through the circle. Yet, I saw them on and off during the sessions yesterday. And I wondered if it was because there was me and the other member in the room, which kinda makes me feel even worse.

Another thing is, the platform has slowly become an unhealthy coping mechanism. Spending time there has become an addiction. I barely made any progress in dropping the baggage. And the needs have become a craving. Also, the circle has been somewhat problematic lately.

The atmosphere in the circle has been different from during my early time using the platform. In my first couple of weeks there, the atmosphere was warm and uplifting. Even though everyone had their own problem, taking a turn to share, they were also respectful, understanding, and supportive toward other members.

They didn’t take things personally. When a member did the sharing, others would focus on that member. They wouldn’t end up sharing their own story while commenting or defending themselves because they have different views or ways of dealing with things.

In fact, they would share their opinion but give the members the freedom to decide for themselves. They would respect others who had different opinions. They had a deeper perspective, communicated effectively, and could see when someone was being supportive even when the words weren’t sentimental.

There was order in the room during the sessions. They knew how to respect the guidelines apart from their dissatisfaction. And know how to take the higher road despite how they feel about something. Lately, it’s no longer like that.

The members who exhibit those behaviors are rarely seen in the circle. So the atmosphere pretty much changes too. And instead of feeling warm and uplifted, sometimes I would feel… troubled.

More often than not, when someone does the sharing, others would also busy sharing their own story. Other times they would just be completely silent, even when the members expressed they expect encouraging words. Many people were in the room, but no words were given, not even compassion hearts.

I don’t always say something, but I usually give compassion hearts to show them that someone is listening and understands what they’re talking about. Even so, it was more than a few times I saw someone express they felt ignored during the sharing.

A member even said doing the sharing made them feel like a burden. And even after that, no one else said anything. It’s heartbreaking to see that. Especially since it happened in a place where people should be able to get the understanding and support they need.

They didn’t do anything when their words could have meant something to someone. But when it wasn’t necessary to say something, the words came out, and it wasn’t even a good thing.

When there was a heated discussion about the member who often expressed self-pity, no one tried to stand up for that member. But when other members joined and reminded us to be more empathetic, suddenly someone asked if the “war” had ended.

Everyone saved themselves from getting tangled in the situation. But the moment it felt comfortable for them to say something, they suddenly became critics. They showed up when it no longer mattered. And not to show sympathy to that one member. But to say insinuation. I don’t even see the reason why that was necessary.

I ever stepped up when I saw someone being ridiculed during their sharing. So I know we don’t have to take a different stance from those people. We just got to say something to remind them or widen their perspective. But there’s no need to make a comment that would only aggravate the situation. It would only lead to a more unhealthy discussion.

Many of the sessions now have no host. The other day, it was chaotic in the room. People disregarded the guidelines and initiated a heated discussion about it, using their sharing time to express derision about the guidelines.

From the start, I also felt dissatisfied with some of the guidelines, mainly about the prohibition to ask questions. Because for me, asking questions is a way to show that we care about what is being talked about. That we are willing to know more about it to be able to provide better support or comments.

But on the other hand, I also understand why it’s a part of the guideline. People in the circle are those who are going through something. There can be things they don’t feel comfortable talking about. There can be things that are triggering for them. I once saw a member getting very upset during their sharing when someone asked if they were being abused. That’s why the guideline is there. Cause even though it’s just an innocent question, the impact can be harmful.

So, those problems, along with the additional distress of being unable to find someone who is genuinely willing to be there, having the patience to listen to everything I have to say, and being understanding and supportive, make the time I spend on the platform becomes problematic. At this point, I would even say it’s likely that being there would add more of my burden instead of unloading it.

So, all in all, it is probably better to spend very minimum time there. Unless maybe if I find the kind of listener I’m hoping for and the conversation could make me feel better, uplifted, and energized. As much as I appreciate their kindness to be willing to be there for others, right now, I have goals. And I have to focus on those goals.

And the goal is not just to feel connected or to talk to someone. For that, being on the platform isn’t necessary. The goal is to unload some of my burdens, so my steps feel a little lighter. The goal is not to let myself continue feeling overwhelmed by the feeling of being misunderstood.

Talking about the second goal, we can go back a bit to the talk about desire. So, during my talk with the first person I connected with on the platform, the topic of desire came out briefly. He did seem to be going through something too. He said he often felt distracted and suffered from loneliness.

During our conversation, a question about desire popped up. He asked if desire was a bad thing. I said it depends. It could be if it leads us to do something bad. After that talk, I was thinking about it more profoundly.

The word desire might be more commonly used as a term in love and relationship, but I think desire can take many forms. Any kind of craving, any kind of feeling that something is missing that makes us experience a strong need to fulfill that longing feeling, can be considered a desire.

That’s why I think it can be both good as well as bad. It depends on how it affects our way of thinking and the way we feel, which would shape our actions and decisions we make that lead to the impact it would have on us later.

So how does this connected to what happened to me? I haven’t been able to do what I come to the platform to do. But I got some enlightenment. My interaction with people on the platform, seeing the interaction between members, and how people express themselves on the platform made me realize something.

Maybe it was hard for me to get to the deepest core of the cause of my issue. Because in real life, there are so many factors. Many things can happen during my days. There are many people I interacted with other than those involved in the issue. There are information or situations I’m exposed to that resemble some parts of the issue. There are other issues that I have to deal with in my life. There’s also this expectation from myself in how I’m dealing with things in life.

All those affect my perspective. And maybe when I was looking into the issue, I couldn’t separate every other factor completely and focus merely on the issue. So my emotion changes from time to time which affects the way I see the issue. Sometimes it can be quite extreme. Sometimes it can be quite rapid.

But it wasn’t always a reflection on how I felt about the issue. Everything was tangled. It’s pretty much a mess. So the problem became more massive. And it’s getting more difficult to deal with.

On the other hand, my interaction with people on the platform is pretty much isolated from every other thing in my life. So it’s easier to get to the bottom of things. And I supposed the one thing that also makes it easier is because I have little to no attachment to the people there. It’s easier for me to disconnect myself from the people or the environment to get more clarity about what’s happening.

I care about the people I encounter there. Especially those who are vulnerable and express themselves freely. And also those who are understanding and empathetic toward others. But I care about them as human beings and nothing more. I wouldn’t allow myself to continue to be in distress over someone I don’t even know.

I care about them, but I can always put myself as a priority with them. And I have no doubt that everyone there would do the same with people they encounter on the platform. So, as I said, it’s easier.

While in real life, in the issue that makes me experience all kinds of emotions, it may not be like that. Things are still unclear, and many are still a mystery to me. Sometimes I thought I was seeing things. Other times I knew I was just assuming. But apart from how I feel about it all, I like to think and talk about it in a lighthearted way. Because it makes me happy.

Oftentimes I would feel torn about how I should behave. I can’t be thoughtless to someone I care about who probably cares about me too. How would I be able to look myself in the mirror if I did that? I cannot think only about myself just to get myself out of discomfort or difficulties. Especially since I did it before, and I’m only left with deep regret.

I cannot pretend that I’m not aware of things that I sense. And even if it’s only possibilities, it matters to me when it comes to someone I care about. I don’t know how to put those thoughts aside and just focus on my own well-being. Especially since I’m not the type, who can run away from my conscience. But also, I felt wronged. And I cannot disregard this as well because it would be unfair to me. So, well… like I said.. it’s… complicated.

Btw, this has become too long. I didn’t anticipate this. This post has become novel-like. Lol. I knew there’d be storytelling, but I didn’t think it would be this long. This was intended to be maybe like an hour writing. But now it’s already two days. And I’m not even done yet. Lol. seriously…

Actually, there’s something more I want to talk about. About desire, enlightenment, and four noble truths. But I supposed I would continue in another post. Also, the title… uh… it’s totally unrelated to the content. Well… I was just casually writing this to feel better. But turns out there was so much to talk about, and the words just kept flowing. Lol.

Well.. the title becomes somewhat misleading, I supposed. But I think I would just do what people in the circle say at the end of each session. The words I could never be able to say no matter how many times I’ve been there. For me, it just doesn’t feel right to say it. But for this one, let’s just… let it be.😄

Also, ahaaa… I’m gonna backdate this post. Otherwise, I would have to make some adjustments. Sheesh… There are other things to do. So, let’s just let it be for this one too. 😉

This is Starting to Get on My Nerve

Three times in two weeks. It’s crazy! Why am I keep getting this directory listing issue? I’m currently connected to one of the hosting team representatives who is investigating the issue. I’m sure he will resolve the issue just like the other two before. But why is this keep happening? Ah, this is kinda annoying!

I have already taken some measures to improve my website security. I activated the two-factor authentication even before this started to happen. I scanned my laptop for viruses and malware, and the result was clean. I ran the virus scanner on the Cpanel, and there was also no virus found. And yet this happened.

Okay, so I just got informed by the hosting representative that my account has been hacked. The directory listing issue has been taken care of, and he has taken started account scanning so we can get a better idea of what to do to handle this issue effectively and ensure the same problem wouldn’t occur in the future.

The good thing is, the support staff is nice, reliable, and helpful. I guess this corroborates the thought that the guy that morning was really an anomaly. The scan will take around an hour to complete.

I asked the hosting representative to stay connected until the scan was complete. The steps that need to be taken after the result comes back seem quite technical, and I might need some assistance. Luckily he didn’t seem to mind.

Errr… I just checked that he just left the conversation 😐. Hey, what’s with that open manner you showed before? Ah, maybe because I already said thank you for restoring the website, he assumed the conversation had already come to an end.

I guess I’m gonna have to recontact the support team again once the scan result is available. Hopefully, the support team later will be as skillful and helpful. For now, I just need to wait. Will update on this again later. Hopefully, it will be good news.

Oh, What’s With You NameCheap?

I don’t know what’s wrong with NameCheap lately, but I’ve been facing some issues with my website. I just opened it, and instead of showing the homepage, it showed the directory listing. This was also happening around a week ago.

That time, I thought there was a mistake on my part because I was a bit late in renewing the hosting plan since I was so caught up in taking care of my sick cat. The support team helped me to recover the website back to normal again. But now it happens again.

Apparently, I’m not the only one facing this issue. When I tried to contact the support team via chat, I got a notification that their hosting team was experiencing a higher than usual volume of support requests. As I’m writing this, I finally connected with one of the hosting support staff, who is now asking for 10 minutes to do some checking since I first connected to the support team from another department.

What’s wrong with you, Namecheap?? Why suddenly let me down like this? I’ve been with you for so many years. I’ve been nothing but loyal to you. And I have always been satisfied with your service, until lately.

One of the things I like about Namecheap is its support team. They’re nice, responsive, and helpful. But even that, I’m not so sure anymore. Last week when I contacted their support, the reply time was much longer than usual. And he was very passive.

Usually, once they found the root of the issue, they would get back to me and offer to help resolve the issue or at least give me the link of articles of what I could do to handle the issue. But the guy the other morning just told me about the issue and then nothing else. As if that somehow resolve the problem. I got to send him a few more messages so he would help me solve the problem.

That wasn’t the first time I faced this directory listing issue. The same thing also happened years back. Luckily that time, the support was very helpful. He assisted me until the website was up again and updated me with the steps he took.

Will NameCheap disappoint me again this time? I don’t know yet. For now, it took him long enough to do the checking and reply to my message. More than 10 minutes and still no update.

The problem is resolved, and my website is back! He responded to my chat faster and fulfill the timeline he made.

If it was also a disappointment, I wanted to send a message to their customer service about it, hoping they would address the issue. Otherwise, I might try to move to another provider because the issue combined with bad support will be treated as a red flag of their decrement of service quality. But since it’s a good experience, I guess I’ll give NameCheap the benefit of the doubt.

Maybe the guy the other morning was an anomaly. Which happened at a very bad time. I stayed up until past midnight. Waiting for my cat by his side until he bade his farewell to me and the world. I was tired and grieving. I opened my website, trying to find some comfort before going to bed. But instead, I found a problem. And the guy who was supposed to help me solve the issue only made me feel even worse.

He was irresponsive, passive, and impolite. The chat after the problem was solved above was the normal conversation I would have with any of their support staff. I would say thank you, they would make sure I didn’t need any more assistance before saying goodbye. The guy that morning surely didn’t follow the SOP.

He wasn’t even skillful. It took him long enough to solve the problem. He wasn’t succeeded on one try and didn’t even check the result of his work. Just told me that the problem had been taken care of, which made me even more upset when seeing it wasn’t.

Once it finally did, I wanted to show some appreciation, and I said thank you with some enthusiasm that the website was up again. But he didn’t even say anything😐. I don’t know what his problem was. But he dragged my mood down at a very bad moment.

The good thing is, he didn’t seem to represent the support team as a whole. Because my experience this time shows they still live up to a good standard.

So, the website is back. I can read and write again. But I still have some trouble putting my heart and thought into writing. I have some concerns. And I am still unable to neutralize it. Before, what I wrote was mostly positive emotion, so I enjoyed writing it. But now… I don’t really feel good about writing this.

Moreover, it seems like my heart and mind began to be preoccupied with things that don’t belong there. Well… like I said before, I took some measures because I need to be as unaffected as possible. I need to focus on what I feel and think and not worry about anything else. But I might have failed to stick with it. I began to read some articles and things, and somehow it triggered some thoughts and evoked some emotions.

So I guess before I began to write again, I got to separate the thoughts and emotions that are not actually related to what I’m going to write. Stop trying to connect the completely irrelated matters just because there’s one thing in common. Stop trying to revive the memories from the past to support the already cynical mind. And make sure my mind wouldn’t play tricks on me this time. Also, I need to stop thinking of what might happen in the future since I’m not a soothsayer.

Hey, It’s Me Again

Hey you, it’s me again. A week later, with no progress. Oh, where has all the spirit gone? Should we summon some astral creature to help me find my zest back? Cause it seems like this time, I need something out of this world. Like, quite literally.

Something strange enough. An alien or a deity. Okay, I didn’t mean to compare something divine to a creature from other planets. I’m just saying I can enjoy the presence of literally anything that is out of this world. Something to which the norms or mundane terms doesn’t apply. Something to which logic doesn’t apply. And can’t even be applied. So I would feel normal when I’m not making perfect sense either.

Ooohhh… I miss my old self. I miss being someone who could freely express whatever they had in mind or heart. Never put pressure on themselves of making sense of what they do or say.

But I guess we’re all like that, aren’t we? Sometimes we miss our younger self where we move as light as a feather. Somehow the longer we live, things get a bit heavier. Not really a burden. More like life lessons. We experienced many things. Not only exhilaration, contentment, fulfilment and such. But also grief, loss, regret, guilt, and many other emotions that tend to evoke the opposite feeling of uplifting. And it shapes our perspective somehow.

Our footstep is no longer that light since now we have more to consider. Because our perspective has been widened. And it’s not a bad thing. It can actually be a good thing. Because now we’re supposed to be able to make better decisions. Since we’re exposed to more information that we were yet to notice back in our younger times. Our way of thinking should have been more comprehensive.

Well… Maybe we’d be landed with the same decision. After all, decision making is not that complex. There are only two answers for every question, yes or no. But even though we’d be saying the same thing, we know the quality of our answer is different when we had a more comprehensive and deeper understanding of it.

You know, it’s like when we just landed a job. On our first day or first week, someone asked us a question about our job, we’d find the information and answer the question. But we answer it just for the sake of answering. To not look like a fool. To prove ourselves. To give answer. The classic newcomer determination to show their potential. And to be responsible for what we sign up for.

But we probably would get overwhelmed if we got more and more questions. If our answer were questioned, we’d probably question it too. We’d still able to figure things out. But we will also still answer the question just for the sake of answering. And most likely, we’d be hoping there’d be no more questioning.

But after a few weeks or a few months, we’d get more in tune with our job. We’d have a different attitude to all the questions coming. We no longer see it as a measurement of the depth of our knowledge. We no longer feel like a defendant who got to prove ourselves to the judge or the jury. It had gone beyond the matter of responsibility.

We are more open to every question. We’re no longer concerned about how it would make us seem. Because our focus is no longer divided. What matters most has become how to do the job to the best of our ability. And if some questioning, some information that came to light can help us attain it, we’d welcome it with open hands. We can give comprehensive answers to every question. And we’re ready to stand by our answers. We can also turn it into a discussion.

Now let’s say you make an error. Making an error at a later time when we already have some experience and in the early time are different. And it would also affect us differently. When I rejoined the company I used to work for, one of my colleagues who joined a month before me was a bit struggling.

Some people said she was underqualified for the job. While that might be true, to me, it also seemed she didn’t get the support she needed. Everyone seemed to care more that she didn’t produce the expected result. But didn’t seem to consider the effort she made. It’s kinda sad.

Not because of the dismissal. Of course, when it reached the point where continuing her employment no longer seemed beneficial, the business decision had to be made. But maybe it didn’t have to reach that point had she gotten the support she needed.

I, too, made an error in the early time of my employment. I don’t remember whether it was the first or the second week. At that time, I was still only doing what my predecessor taught me to do without deep understanding. One day, I got summoned by the head of sales. I came to his cubicle, and he asked if I was the one sending the report he was reading on his monitor.

He didn’t lash out. But he didn’t try to be lenient either when pointing out my mistake. I wasn’t sure what to say because there was no way I would say that’s how I was taught to do it. I only stunned. But I was so lucky because I didn’t have to go through it alone.

The moment that head’s secretary came and said I was being summoned, my supervisor immediately asked her what it was about. She didn’t get an explanation, so she followed me. When I was too stunned to speak for myself, she was the one who came to my defence. Asking for his understanding since I was only there for around a week.

I’m sure she expected me to never make such a mistake again. But she didn’t judge me. She didn’t highlight my mistake. She didn’t lecture me. Instead, she comforted me, saying that’s just how the head was. So I didn’t feel the need to prove I wasn’t someone who couldn’t do my job right and could focus on giving my best to do it well.

I grew quite well. And I always feel like, the employee I was becoming at a later time, I pretty much owe it to her. Not only because of that moment, but also every other moment. She’s a hard-working person, and she pushed her team members just as hard. But she didn’t tough love us. If any of us struggled, she was there for us every step of the way. Which is why we all, despite having our own background, experiences, skills, personality, and character, could perform well under her supervision.

Actually, she kinda did it to me once. I’m not sure whether it was tough love or just punishment. But she did try to teach me something. She buried me in piling up work. And we kinda had a cold war. Because I’m not the kind, who respond well to tough treatment. But it didn’t last for long. So our relation didn’t get a chance to deteriorate.

I think we all who once worked under her supervision have our own opinion about her. But I’m sure we all agreed that she was someone we could always count on whenever we had to deal with some issues at work. And I’m sure we all respect her for that.

That feeling of having someone we could always rely on didn’t make us spoiled. It made us never hesitate to do whatever was needed to get the job done. Because we knew if ever we were faced with difficulties, we could always take it up to her, and things would work out.

She was never hesitant or reluctant to initiate a discussion with anyone despite their rank whenever necessary. I would say, if there was no language barrier, she would even talk to top-level management if she had to. Working with her felt like there were no boundaries. Considering we worked in a hierarchical organization, that was quite amazing.

I stand by what I said. Had she managed a unit where I could contribute differently. Where I could develop more set of skills. Where those skills, my way of thinking, and the way I do my job could make a difference in how the job was being done, I wouldn’t have thought of leaving. Unfortunately, there wasn’t much room for growth there. And I have a hard time when I feel stagnant. So…

But I don’t regret it. Everything that happened. After all, I feel grateful for making that decision. Not for leaving her team. But the way it shaped my life at a later time that goes beyond career choice.

Oh, wait, wait, wait. Okay, seems like we need a time out. I’m a bit lost here. Why am I talking about my job? Didn’t we talk about heavy footsteps before? Oh right! I was trying to make an analogy. That was a quite long analogy. So… That’s pretty much the same with everything in life. The dynamics. The things that happen and how it shapes our way of thinking and behaving at a later time.

Eeeerr… uh.. well… hmmmm… How do I say this? So, I was just thinking of how I could build the bridge between all I just said and what the next paragraph is talking about. But I cannot think of a brief way to do that. Apparently, it is supposed to be the next thing I said after talking about a more comprehensive way of thinking. And yet, after that, I wrote an analogy about the dynamics of life where I basically talked about something else entirely. And now, this paragraph no longer seems like it belongs here. LMAO. But I don’t want to delete this part because it’s pretty much highlighting what I’m feeling. So, here it is, the lost part of my thoughts. >,<

But when everything is a mystery, sometimes we’re spiralling. And until we break free from it, we just continuously go through the cycle in our heads. Trying to overcome the barrier in the clouds. The moment we thought we had already pulled it off, we realized it wasn’t even real. And we’re back in the spiral. But the more we stay there, the more terrifying it becomes to take an actual step. Because in our head we can make everything so beautiful. But the illusion is just an illusion. In reality, we got to always be prepared for the worst.

Okay, it’s time to stop talking like a fortune cookie. Let’s get more practical. As I said, it’s been more than a week, and there’s no progress. Which means I’m stalling, and I shouldn’t be. How do we give ourselves the time to feel more prepared for whatever coming but not end up making an excuse to stop putting the effort?

Yeah, I know. We got to stop thinking about it. The future is yet to happen. So whatever we picture in our head is just an illusion. Why would we spend energy worrying about something that may not even happen? And if we’re worried about the impact of our action. Well, we need to stop being too concerned about it, either.

Because not everything is within our control. What important is, we know we do something with the best intention at heart. So I guess we need to empty our minds. Maybe I need to meditate or something. Maybe I need to run again. Maybe I need to write more. Whatever it is, we’ll find something that works!

Nature or Nurture?

I was surfing part of the cyberspace that mentioned MBTI and got curious about how mine is lately. I’ve been doing the test a few times before and experienced some shifting in the result.

The first time I did it was in high school, if I’m not mistaken. Then in college, I also did a few tests. And a few more after I worked. But since I didn’t document the result, I don’t remember for sure what it was.

But over time, my result in this test shifted—more than once. Only the first two never changed. I’m an IN. There’s no doubt about it. I ever discussed personality matters with some friends, and a friend who has as much interest in personality matters said he also experienced a shift in his MBTI result. Though he was a bit surprised knowing I experienced more than one preference shift.

I’ve talked about my shift in this post before. This time I do an online test on the same website where I did the last documented one before.

Here’s my result this time

Apparently, not much has changed since the last time. But surprisingly, the result this time showed I’ve become much more introverted. I always consider myself an ambivert with a slight tendency of introversion. And since the last result corroborated the thought, I was quite convinced about it. But seeing this result, am I no longer?

Has my personality shifted again, or this is just a temporary state? Maybe partially impacted by lack of interaction with other human beings? You know, since we’ve all been kinda stuck at home the past two years due to the pandemic.

Eeeerr… Okay, I know, that doesn’t seem to be reasonable. There are ways we can do to stay connected with people. We can still interact, just through different mediums. Well… Then, maybe, what I’ve been doing the past two weeks can also be a possibility.

So you know, in my last couple of posts, I talked about how I’m currently in the process of doing something important. And since it’s something important, it’s also important for me to do it right. And to do it right, I need to be as unaffected as possible.

So, I currently do not engage in social media activity. I logged out of my Instagram account before I began. I also try to minimize reading articles that can be emotionally triggering. Since I don’t need emotion that’s not related to what matters most to me right now.

Since the beginning, I’ve already tried to separate the emotion I feel for each event. Containing each emotion in their own timeline and try not to let it affect how I’m feeling now. Because some emotion doesn’t belong to be in this timeline anymore. So I try to reminisce without letting the emotion affect me.

Because I don’t wanna end up justifying things or trying to make sense of things. I don’t want to be drawn to that behaviour again. I just want to tell the story as it is and not for any other reason. So I don’t want any negative emotion that’s not even triggered by the current event ruining my effort.

So I kinda isolating myself right now. I also minimize reading articles or stories of other people because I don’t want to end up feeling relate to their situation and thinking maybe I should make the decision they make.

Cause as much as I respect that they have experienced something and might have good advice to follow, our situation might not be that alike. And even if it is, we might want different things. We might expect to solve our situation differently. We might expect different things for ourselves and the people involved.

Most importantly, whatever I say or do, any stance I take, decision I make, I’m the one who’s gonna live with the consequence. I’d rather look inward and ensure that every part of me agree with every step I take and ready for the good and bad that may come along.

Okay, we’re digressing quite a bit here. My bad. Well, if you read the more complete report of my test result, you can find that I have an abstract mind. So, bear with me. 😉

Anyway, back to the result, apart from my introversion, it’s not much different than the previous result. The last two possibly will continue to shift from time to time, considering the result showed I’m quite balanced in those two preferences.

I supposed it reflects my situation, how it affects me, and how I deal with it at the moment of taking the test. Well, I’m a mutable sign, after all. If I need to adapt, I will adapt.

Btw, this is out of topic, but since I already write anyway, just give this one a piggyback. I’m slacking. I just want to admit before the voice in my head chime in and try to make me feel bad about it. Don’t. Please don’t.

Huuufftt… It’s just… Remember when I told you I made some kind of framework of how the story will be told? Well… Now I get to the point where things are about to get more personal. And I kinda think that maybe I should leave out those parts. The thing is, without those parts, the story will have missing pieces. The story doesn’t rely only on a single part or a few parts. But it’s each and every part that makes the story whole.

Aaaahhh… I need a mood and energy booster here. I feel a bit anxious. Cheer me up! Scream! Dance! However you do it. Convince me, that all will be just fine. I know, I know. It’s always darker before dawn. But will the morning really come? Will the sun really rise? Or will I still stay here in the dark?

Oh, what is this? What’s with me lately? I got to move around the light. I’m not the kind that thrives in the dark. Well, I can thrive anywhere. But I have my preference. Talking about preference, the two that keep shifting, is it nature or nurture?

Cause I can’t recall being that strategic during my childhood or teenage years. And I supposed I’m more of a happy go lucky kind of person. So that shift in the last preference could probably be a reaction on how I expect to deal my current situation.

Well.. in case I do develop, I wouldn’t resist it. The current type do look badass anyhow. Lol. Just don’t want to get the wrong idea of who I am. But that’s a good point to note. This test, or any other test. No matter how sophisticated it seem, nothing can be comprehensive enough to describe a person as a whole.

Cause there are many perspectives we can see a person, aren’t there? MBTI, the four temperaments, blood type, zodiac signs, Chinese zodiac sign, and many others. Even the ones that describe our innate traits might not be that accurate after we’ve been living our lives for quite a while. Since we’ve been through many things in life and might have been faced with situations that required us to transform.

We all are a work in progress. Never put a strict label on ourselves and limit our chances to continue evolving. My result might show a continuous shift since I have a keen interest in human personality and how it affects our interaction and the way we live. So I do the test quite often.

I’m actually more interested to know my result during my childhood. Since it will show my innate trait and how it evolves over time. Test taken during adulthood is most likely already more firm. And my brain hemisphere is already quite balanced. I most likely wouldn’t have much issue shifting my preference as a way to adapt to the situation.

So again, for me, the most intriguing question remains. Is it nature or nurture?

Keep Going!

Yo myself! How ya doin? Aaaahh… I just need to unleash the crazy part of me for a bit. I want to write as free as I can. Typing words after words that only I can understand. Or maybe, even I cannot understand. But that’s fine. Because I’m me, and I don’t have to make sense.

Because no matter what I write, even when at a later time I read and can’t fully comprehend it, I will still understand me. I don’t even know what I’m saying right now. Lol. But, you! You know what I’m doing rite? Later, when you read this, you can recall this moment again. I don’t have to tell you my heart is about to burst, and my mind gets a little strained. And I’m missing someone like crazy, but there’s nothing I can do for my longing heart.

Because I promised myself I would do something. And yet this thing that I got to do has been taking a lot of my time and energy. Not that I complain about it. If somehow, sometime, it can make someone feels great, I’ll channel all of my energy until I’m totally exhausted. But I don’t even know if it will.

And you know what? It seems like I’ve been making this hard for myself, whether intentionally or unintentionally. And I’m not a masochist. Okay, this is weird. Because one of the definitions of masochist refers to… well… you know… But it’s nothing I’m talking about here.

Okay, the point is, I just wanna say, it’s not that I’m trying to make things hard for myself, but I probably have unconsciously paved the way there. And now I kinda obsess in detailing every event as clear as possible. And once again, not that it’s a bad thing. I do want to elaborate and give a clear picture of what I’m walking about. After all, it’s all parts of the story.

But it becomes long, like… very long. But how can I compress years of journey into just a few paragraphs? Okay, maybe I’m just tired because this takes longer than I thought it’d be. I kinda hope that I could write two to three chapters a day. But it turns out that a single chapter can sometimes take more than a day to finish. And there’s a chance that it would take even longer since the story would probably get a little crazier.

I mean, we’re about talking emotion. And even more emotion. You know how uncomfortable it is for me and how it’s not my thing. So I kinda question if it really represents me. But the story would be soulless if I put it aside. And I might as well not write it at all.

Oh, I’m not complaining. Like I said, I just need to set myself free. All of these scattered thoughts with a mixture of some sentiments are just… my style. Well… since there’s some sentiment, it’s a new style. You know, new year, new style. I know new year is yet to come. I’m taking the initiative.

It’s just… I miss someone so much. But I have to be as unaffected as possible. And since even looking at a picture can make my heart tremble, it’s off-limit at this point of time. And this determination began to feel like torture.

I mean, like, seriously, I waited for years, and now you’re the one standing in my way? The mind and the heart should have been best friends. Supporting each other instead of getting in each other’s way. I mean, we can’t run from each other. It’s a commitment for a lifetime, you know?

Now that I think about it, should we make a vow like once a year? To always be there for each other for better and for worse. In sickness and in health. In poverty and in wealth. To love and to cherish. I mean, my mind got sick sometimes. And my heart was also not always in its best state. And maybe the reason was because they’re yet to tie the knot(??).

Anyway, until we can set the date, let’s go back to the main discussion. Can I not take a peek? One look, and that’d be enough. Okay… maybe one look for a few minutes? Oh, come one, it’s not breaking the rule. As long as we agree. Don’t we have a deal already? Once it’s written, the deal is on the table, you know?

I mean, you worked for a corporate. You know that an exception is acceptable and even necessary sometimes. It’s there to bring a positive impact. Okay, I know, I know, we can’t know for sure about the impact this time. But are you really hoping for certainty when there’s only one thing in this life we can be certain of?

Anyway, ganbatte, jiayou, YOU CAN DO THIS!!! Just keep going, focus on the road, not the tree!

Que sera sera

Hey, it’s already 2 weeks to go for the earth to get another year older. I wonder what kind of wish it has this year for all the years it has left. Does the wish related to itself or the being living on it?

You know, there’s this quote “Be like a candle which burn itself, but, give light to others”. I’m not sure to who the quotes should be attributed. It’s all over the internet, sometimes with slightly different versions, but with no clear attribution.

The quotes, as touching as it may sound, I never like really it. I like the last part but not the first. Because it implies that if we’re kind to others if we’re giving, we’d be burning ourselves out. It doesn’t have to be like that, does it?

Why not be like mother nature? It provides us all the things we need to survive another day and never ask for anything in return. And yet, it’s been here before we did and will always be here even when we’re all gone. No love is more unconditional than the love of mother nature. But it’s also very powerful that it doesn’t easily run out of energy to continue giving.

Sadly, we human beings often act like spoiled audacious brats who constantly take advantage, abuse its beauty, take it for granted and forget to give back almost all of the time. Only now, when we are more aware of the negative impact it would have on us that we begin to take necessary action to preserve its longevity.

Okay, for now, enough about the earth. Let’s hope that the climate change act will soon positively impact the environment.

Now, let’s talk a bit about life in 2021. I haven’t shared anything this year, it seems. There is a lot to share, but I guess it can wait. Now I feel like talking about something else.

So, I’m in the process of doing something very important. And by very important, I mean it’s something of super high priority. But this takes much longer than I expected it to be since, in the process, I got to recollect some information, including by rereading all the things I’ve ever written. Connecting the dots and reshaping my perception. Though I don’t like to admit it, I might not be in the best state of mind when processing the information back then.

But maybe the reason it takes so long isn’t that the process of rereading is that time-consuming. Maybe it’s not because the process of recollecting information is more challenging than expected. Maybe there’s another reason. Maybe… maybe somehow I’m stalling. Because… there’s a chance, I wouldn’t like how it ends. And maybe I just don’t want to get there yet.

Maybe just like years before, even though I wish it’s not, there’s a part of me that aware that this could be just a dream. And I just want to enjoy living in the dream for a little longer. Cause by the time I finish the story this time, that might be the time I’m gonna have to wake up.

The idea of the story has developed more than what I originally intended to write it. Some elements would be more brutally honest. It’d be as real as it gets. There’s be nowhere to hide this time. And aaahhh… I don’t know… Maybe I just need some more time to find comfort in telling the story as a whole.

I don’t have a story to tell yet. Right now, all I have are pieces of information. I still need to figure out a way to incorporate and elaborate on that information. And the hard part is not to do that. But to be mentally and emotionally prepared for whatever’s coming.
